On November 20, 1977, 30 year old Maria Abbatiello-Smith was reported missing. Six days later, her body was found within a vacant field near the 700 block of Mariposa Street. During the investigation, it was determined that Maria was the victim of a homicide. Prior to her death, Maria worked at the Airman's Club on the Lowry Air Force Base.
