On October 5, 1996, 20 year old Gene Williams was attending a party on the 1100 block of East Colfax Avenue when he and the suspect got into an altercation. The suspect produced a firearm and fired several shots striking Mr. Williams. Mr. Williams was taken to the local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
