On Sunday morning, June 29, 1980, 27 year old Donald Willis was found lying on the bike path near 19th Street and Platte River Drive. Mr. Willis was suffering from a gunshot wound and died on July 9, 1980 as a result of his injury. Mr. Willis was transient but had previously lived for a short time at the Raylene Apartments.
