About this Case:

Navy Intelligence Specialist Laszlo Boszormenyi was fatally shot in the back of the head on January 29, 1981 near Kremmling, Colorado. Boszormenyi had stopped in Colorado to ski as he was traveling from San Diego, where his ship docked, to Omaha, where he was enrolled in an intelligence course. Appearing to be a robbery slaying, the killer got away with Boszormenyi's wallet and more than one thousand dollars he had after cashing his paycheck. Witnesses told authorities they saw a green pickup truck parked behind Boszormenyi's yellow and white Volkswagen van at a gravel pull-out between 2pm-4pm before he was found bleeding to death behind his van. He was shot once in the back of the head with a .22-caliber bullet fired from a rifle, then dragged behind the bus. Beer bottles were found at two spots where witnesses reported seeing the green truck, as well as 11 miles west down US 40. It is not believed that Boszormenyi's killing had anything to do with his intelligence work. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to please contact the Grand County Sheriff's Office.
