On Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Lakewood Police Department responded to the 1800 block of South Pierce Street, located in the City of Lakewood, upon the discovery of a deceased male, who was identified as Steve Burton, located inside the residence. During the investigation, it was determined that burglary was not the motive. It appears the murder of Steve Burton was most probably committed by someone he knew.
