About this Case:

On June 29, 1984 at 4:14 a.m., James Broughman, his wife and two small children were living in the Manor House Motel. The suspect gained entry into their apartment through a bathroom window located approximately 5 feet off the ground. After entering the window, the suspect was in the process of ransacking through the wallet and other items when he was confronted by James Broughman. His wife and two small children awoke during the struggle and saw James struggling with a male and then heard the gunshot that ultimately killed him. The suspect then exited the motel room through the kitchenette window. The investigation showed that another motel room had been burglarized in a very similar manner just prior to the incident in which the James Broughman was murdered.
