About this Case:
On December 8, 1977 at around 5:00pm, George Hardy was shot to death in his residence, during a home invasion, by two unknown men wearing ski masks and gloves. The weapon used was a .45 caliber handgun. Detectives believe the motive was robbery, due to Hardy owning valuable collectors coins. One suspect is described as a shorter, heavy-set man who wore a red ski parka and ski goggles. The other, a taller, thinner person, wore a blue parka. It is thought that this suspect could have been a woman. Suspects came in asking specifically for Hardy, leaving his wife and granddaughter alone when they were seen in the kitchen. Both suspects drove away in a dark-colored pickup truck. Anyone with information regarding this case, is asked to please contact the Thornton Police Department.
