On the evening of August 23, 1978 officers from the Denver Police Department responded to the Star Bar on a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located 38 year old Fred Sanchez lying on the sidewalk. Mr. Sanchez was immediately transported to a local hospital but died while in surgery.
