On November 5th 2008, officers responded to the 1100 block of Syracuse Street on a report of a man down. Upon arrival, officers located 22 year old Jose Deleon-Yanez suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the face. Prior to being shot to death by unknown suspects, Jose was reportedly seen in the parking lot of the apartment complex located at the intersection of East 11th Avenue and Syracuse Street.
