About this Case:
On March 26, 2014, Jacqueline Amber Jones was found dead inside a home in Monte Vista, Colorado. Her boyfriend, James Garcia, reported he left their home that day at 6am, headed to the oil field where he worked, but returned when his ride said they would not leave until 8am. When he entered his bedroom, he claims he found his 23 year old girlfriend had hanged herself with an electrical cord. A suicide note was left and Ms. Jones had struggles with depression in her past. However, upon police arrival, Ms. Jones was found on the floor, not hanging. Outside experts were hired by Ms. Jones' parents to review the available evidence. Upon completion of that review, in November 2019, the coroner modified the manner of death to homicide instead of suicide. Investigation into this case continues. Anyone with information is asked to please contact the Monte Vista Police Department.
