About this Case:
On June 9, 1997, officers responded to an address in Northwest Denver on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim, Federico Gutierrez, and the suspect were having an altercation in the back bedroom of the apartment. At some point, the two went into the crawlspace area. While there, witnesses heard several gunshots. The suspect emerged from the crawlspace carrying a handgun. Officers located the victim deceased from apparent gunshot wounds inside the crawlspace. Information learned at the scene support the suspect fleeing to Mexico after the shooting.
