Amaro was last seen at her parents' home in the vicinity of 13th and Raleigh in Denver, Colorado on October 6, 2017. She has never been heard from again. The next day, her vehicle was found abandoned on the side of the road near the 215 Beltway and north 5th Street in Northern Las Vegas, Nevada.
