About this Case:

On Saturday, June 16, 2001, 18 year old Jose Damion Quiroz Rivera was found by Colorado Springs Police Deparment officers who responded to a report of an unresponsive person in an apartment on Vehr Drive. There they found Jose Damion Quiroz Rivera on the floor of his own living room, deceased from multiple stab wounds. Mr. Rivera's brother was present and had witnessed portions of the crime. Interviews with relatives and other witnesses revealed that the victim and his brother had been involved in an altercation with several men at the Three Amigos Bar on the Friday night preceding the murder. Several hours after that fight, a group of women came by the victim's apartment and had a minor physical altercation with him. At around 8:30 Saturday morning, a group of about 10 young Hispanic men came to the apartment building asking for "Gato", the nickname of the victim's brother, and eventually made their way to the victim's apartment. Witnesses saw them enter the apartment, heard sounds of a struggle, then saw the men flee in two cars, one possibly a red Mercury Cougar. Victim was found dead on the floor of the apartment a few minutes later. Anyone with information regarding this case, is asked to please contact the Colorado Springs Police Department.
