About this Case:

On February 7, 1996, 40 year old, Joseph Talahytewa, a homeless male was hospitalized and succumbed to his injuries several days later. Police were called on a report that a person had been assaulted near the Pikes Peak Liquor Store on the corner of Pikes Peak and Wahsatch Boulevard. Hours after undergoing surgery Mr. Talahytewa slipped into a coma and never regained consciousness. He was a member of the Hopi Tribe. He died on February 12, 1996. The investigation revealed a fight took place during the afternoon of February 7, 1996 behind the Pikes Peak Liquor Store. Mr. Talahytewa was able to communicate that he was assaulted by two people.
