On the evening of July 19, 1978, 63 year old Joe Gerry was sitting at the bar inside of a downtown Denver drinking establishment called the Mir-O-Bar. Several patrons heard a loud noise and shortly thereafter discovered Joe Gerry had been shot. Mr. Gerry was transported to a local hospital, but died as a result of his injuries.
