76 year old Benjamin Goldstein was the owner-operator of a local jewelry store called Ben the Silversmith. This business was located on South Broadway near Mexico Avenue. On the night of May 14, 1979 two unknown suspects broke into Mr. Goldstein's establishment. Upon hearing the intruders, Mr. Goldstein confronted them when he was shot and killed.
