About this Case:

On April 8, 2006, the Colorado State Patrol received a call of a traffic accident in the 3500 block of West 53rd Avenue in unincorporated Adams County, Colorado. Upon arrival, they found a Dodge pickup against a telephone pole with one occupant inside the vehicle. The individual, subsequently identified as Herman Pena-Pena, was transported to St. Anthony Central Hospital where he was pronounced dead. At the hospital, it was discovered that Pena-Pena suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. It was determined Mr. Pena-Pena had been in the vicinity of 51st and Federal Boulevard about an hour prior to the accident and had left with an unknown female.
