About this Case:
The victim, Shawnette Phillips, and her companion were walking near East 35th Avenue and Clayton Street, a residential neighborhood, when they noticed a vehicle approaching. As the vehicle got closer, the driver accelerated, drove over the curb line and intentionally maneuvered the vehicle in a manner to run into the couple. Ms. Phillips' companion was able to avoid being hit by the vehicle; however, she was struck and dragged under the vehicle. Ms. Phillips was immediately transported to a local hospital, but unfortunately did not survive. Anyone with information regarding this case, is asked to please contact the Denver Police Department.
